One day I decided to work on what happened at Golgatha, 12 paintings. I did notthink about the number. It just happened. After that there was the need to refine some of the series up to 12 times. I did not think about the number, but would have gone for 7 to use symbolics.
Whilst I reworked parts entirely I added a lot of crazy connotations, overpainted crosses and turned lights paintings into dark scenes. I was tunnelled like in a dialogue for the period of of six months. I could not paint anything else during that time.
The outcome was not 100% clear but I had an idea. Working on Golgatha doesn’t mean painting crosses, not at all. I means to confront with the power and the impact on that day. If you dare to look at each painting for 2 Minutes or if possible 7 minutes. Bear in mind what happened in Golgatha and dig into the work. Tear it in parts. Rebuild areas, suck the color, inspect all the little details and guess why I finished a work.
